Jenkins Academy of Applied Technology
AWP-001 — Employer workplace component
Aerial Lifts and Scissor Lifts · v1.0.0 · October 22, 2026
Course developed by Todd Jerome Jenkins, MS, CSP.
Online knowledge component only. This course does not provide equipment-specific operator qualification or employer authorization, practical evaluation, electrical-worker qualification or rescue certification. Actual lift instruction, observed safe performance and workplace controls remain separate.
Complete this worksheet using the actual workplace and current plan. A blank form or course score is not evidence that the action occurred. Record actual dates and observations. Print or save a completed copy before closing; entries are not automatically stored. Keep private health details out of this worksheet.
| Component | Actual evidence |
|---|---|
| Equipment and task | Identify lift design, actual model/configuration, work activity, applicable standards, manual and task/environment limits. |
| Training and authorization | Verify subject-qualified/competent training as applicable, worker understanding, actual equipment instruction, observed safe performance, restrictions and employer authorization. |
| Pre-use and work area | Complete control tests and applicable competent-person inspections, resolve defects, verify ground/floor support, traffic, overhead and electrical hazards, weather and load limits. |
| Fall protection and emergencies | Verify boom-lift attachment/system or scissor guardrails and any additional requirements; provide actual system training, approved anchors, emergency lowering and prompt rescue where required. |
| Records and follow-up | Record actual checks, instruction, safe performance and restrictions. Secure equipment at shutdown; manage defects, maintenance controls and retraining triggers. Online completion is not equipment authorization. |
Use the actual work and plan. Arrange clear instruction, questions, teach-back and suitable safe practice. Correct a critical gap before relying on the arrangement. Academy support is asynchronous and is not an emergency contact route.
