Jenkins Academy of Applied Technology
PRCS-001-CON — Employer workplace component
Confined Spaces — Construction · v1.0.0 · October 22, 2026
Course developed by Todd Jerome Jenkins, MS, CSP.
This online knowledge component does not authorize entry or qualify a technical rescuer. The employer must provide actual site and equipment instruction, establish assigned-role proficiency, maintain training records and implement the applicable permit-space program.
Complete this worksheet using the actual workplace and current plan. A blank form or course score is not evidence that the action occurred. Record actual dates and observations. Print or save a completed copy before closing; entries are not automatically stored. Keep private health details out of this worksheet.
| Component | Actual evidence |
|---|---|
| Space and task | Competent person evaluates actual spaces and hazards; employer verifies jurisdiction, entry policy and any documented alternative or reclassification. |
| Controls and equipment | Verify actual isolation, testing/monitoring, ventilation, communications, barriers, access and PPE with safe equipment-specific instruction. |
| Roles and proficiency | Designate entrants, attendants, supervisors and testers; establish proficiency before assignment and record employee and trainer names and training dates; provide understandable instruction and retain records through employment. |
| Permit and coordination | Use the employer permit system, accurate personnel tracking, handover, host/controlling-contractor/entry-employer coordination, cancellation, retention and program review. |
| Rescue | Evaluate timely capable rescue, service access and availability, retrieval arrangements and any exception; separately train and practice designated employee rescuers. |
Use the actual work and plan. Arrange clear instruction, questions, teach-back and suitable safe practice. Correct a critical gap before relying on the arrangement. Academy discussions are asynchronous and are not an emergency contact route.
