Jenkins Academy of Applied Technology

About JAAT

An educational home for applied knowledge, thoughtful practice, and lifelong learning.

Turning knowledge
into practice.

Jenkins Academy of Applied Technology has a simple purpose: help adults use knowledge to understand work, support people, and improve systems.

Applied technology includes the methods, tools, and systems people use to solve problems. Our educational direction brings together occupational safety, safety leadership, applied systems studies, adult learning, and technology.

Current offerings are free, self-paced courses. Schools organize the Academy’s programs; their pages explain the field and connect courses, certificates, and diplomas.

Learning grounded
in real work.

Study connects ideas with practical situations, reflection, and assessment. We emphasize credible evidence, the conditions in which people work, and continuous learning.

JAAT’s educational purpose complements the applied systems research direction of Jenkins Research Institute. Research informs learning, and questions from practice can inform future research.
