HOW I TEACH

Start with the work. Make the learning useful.

Adult learners bring experience, responsibilities, and questions of their own. My teaching approach connects that experience with clear expectations, practical examples, and opportunities to apply what you learn.

Clear expectations

Know what the lesson is asking you to learn, what work you need to complete, and how your work will be assessed.

Practice with purpose

Use cases, work scenarios, and reflection to connect safety concepts to decisions, conditions, and controls.

Questions welcome

Ask what is unclear, explain your reasoning, and consider other people’s experience. Useful feedback helps you see what to improve next.

Teaching and curriculum-development experience

My teaching history includes OSHA 10- and 30-hour Construction and General Industry Outreach training, safety-supervisor exam preparation and train-the-trainer development, First Aid/CPR/AED instruction, and wind-energy fall-prevention and protection training.

At Sunbelt Rentals, I developed a Safety Trained Supervisor train-the-trainer program supporting more than 180 frontline supervisors. My academic preparation also includes undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral coursework in training, development, and adult learning.
